ORGANIZATION: Heartland Hospice

Do you belong to a group that enjoys providing a service to individuals in need or are you an individual that wants to give back? Heartland Hospice has several patients in need of new quilts or blankets. If you know how to make blankets or quilts, we would love your donations. Several of our patients are in their 80's and 90's and are usually cold due to their condition. We are always in need of new hand made quilts or blankets to donate to these wonderful people. It is our goal and purpose to provide comfort and support to our patients in as many ways as possible. If you are interested in making these items and donating them to our patients, please contact Leah. There is no greater deed on earth then to give unselfishly of yourself.

About Heartland Hospice

Mission Statement

Hospice isn’t a place. It’s a philosophy of care. Our mission is called enriching life. Heartland Hospice is dedicated to providing patients with care wherever they consider home. Whether care is desired in the home a patient has lived in for years, a skilled nursing center or an assisted living facility, we tailor our caregiving to fit the patient’s and family’s unique needs.

Description

Heartland’s caregivers enrich our patients’ lives and provide support by developing individualized care plans, setting goals, encouraging personal choices, working together in caregiving decisions, and supporting meaningful experiences. Our caregivers help manage pain and symptoms, enabling patients to live life as fully and comfortably as possible. Volunteers are the heart of the hospice team! Volunteers offer support and companionship to patients and their families. Social workers and Spiritual Counselors create a comforting environment in which patients and families are able to share their thoughts, hopes, and concerns. We also have special bereavement programs that provide emotional support to patients and families who need help coping.
