Bookstock 2016
Bookstock, Used Book & Media Sale, is a community service project through which donations of books and media continue to provide enjoyment and knowledge. Proceeds from the sale of these materials support education and literacy projects, including the Oakland Literacy Council. For more than ten years, the OLC has partnered with Bookstock and benefitted from this tremendous community initiative along with other education and literacy organizations.
Each year, the Oakland Literacy Council staffs and runs the sale Friday evening and all day Saturday. Volunteers replenish books on tables, assist customers and sort books. There are many opportunities to participate throughout the week-long sale, as well as in the months leading up to it. Here’s how you can help:
- Sort materials every Wednesday at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield Wednesdays from 10:00 - 2:00
- Volunteer to work a three hour shift at the sale
This year’s sale will be held May 15-22 at the Laurel Park Place Mall in Livonia.
Please call the OLC office for further details 248.253.1617.
