Become a Community Ambassador and join VSC’s Board of Directors.
VSC is looking for new Board Members to share your skills and help VSC to improve and strengthen its operation and fulfill our mission.
Board Responsibilities:
- Advance the Mission and purpose of the organization.
- Regular attendance at bi-monthly board meetings (6 times a year)
- Ensure effective planning and monitor program services
- Select, evaluate, support and work with the Executive Director
- Provide financial oversight and contribution to ensure financial resources
- Contribute skills, talents and expertise to assist the agency
- Build a competent and diverse Board
- Further the organizations public image and standing
- Attend and participate in agency special events
- Assume leadership roles in all Board activities
- Financially support the agency through "Giving and Getting"
- Serve on Board committees

Our Mission is to provide advocacy and counseling for all who have been affected by sexual violence and other crimes against the person; and to promote prevention and awareness in the community through education.
Description
Comprehensive crime victims center providing free and confidential 24 hour crisis intervention via two hotlines, in-person hospital accompaniments for medical care as a result of rape, police/court accompaniments, individual counseling, support groups, child abuse treatment and family therapy, advocacy, information and referrals, prevention/risk reduction/safety education programs for children from pre-k to college age, senior safety programs for at-risk elderly, Mandated Reporter Trainings, crisis response and pro bono legal representation for victims of sexual violence and stalking.
