Voices for Biodiversity is searching for volunteer Grant Writers to support the continued growth of our organization. The role of Grant Writer is responsible for researching and proposing potential funding sources and developing grant proposals. Candidates can determine the number of grant proposals that she or he would commit to with one being the minimum.
Voices for Biodiversity (V4B) is an online conservation multimedia magazine that shares the stories of people from around the globe in order to help all species survive and thrive together. The e-zine has won the American Anthropological Associations’ Anthropology in Media Award in 2014. In 2015 the e-zine won the award for best website from New Mexico Press Women and the National Federation of Press Women. The e-zine can be found at: www.voicesforbiodiversity.org
The role of Grant Writer is a virtual opportunity that can be performed in any location with stable Internet access. We are looking for volunteers with at least one year of experience in the grant writing field or academic experience that has prepared candidates for grant writing. Candidates must have excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills along with the ability to utilize those skills to create successful proposals. Grant Writers will need to have basic computer skills and great organization and time management skills. Grant Writers will work under the supervision of our Administrative Director. The time commitment for the role will depend on the number of grant proposals that an individual commits to developing. It is preferred that volunteer Grant Writers make a six month commitment to the role, but there is flexibility for the duration to be based on the number of grant proposals that a volunteer commits to. If interested, please send your resume to HR@voicesforbiodiversity.org.
