Berkeley Men's Shelter evening meal

Description
Serve the evening meal at the Men's Shelter, 1931 Center St. in downtown Berkeley, any day of the week. GROUPS ONLY -- individual volunteers can't be placed. Qualified homeless men stay in the Shelter for one or more months at a time. Groups (clubs, fellowships, fraternities, high school and up) of 5-7 people BRING and prepare food for the Center's 35-50 residents, then clean up. Food cost averages $100 per meal. Preparation usually begins at 5, dinner is served at 7, cleanup gets done by 8:30. Sign up for one or more night a month. Weekends are taken care of. We are looking for Tues/Wed/Thurs crews. Shorter-term crews are welcome in summer months when school groups are on vacation.
