There are 3 different ways to volunteer: 1. Teaching people (requires a full orientation.) 2. Shop maintenance/organizing (no orientation required.) 3. Random Awesome Projects! (no orientation required) Teaching patrons requries very little mechanical skills. Working with patrons in the shop can be very rewarding and sometimes challenging. We like to teach people using certain methods, so if you want to work with patrons in the shop you will be required to attend a 2 hour orientation. You need no special skills to do shop work, or help with projects.
Almost every mechanic in the shop was first a volunteer. After learning the ways of the shop, individuals are invited to become mechanics. The lenght of this process varies depending on the individuals. First, volunteer, and then go from there!

Mission Statement
Pedal Wench rebuilds bicycles for disadvantaged children farm workers. This promotes: safe bicycling, more bikes in use, reuse of materials destined for landfill, and learning opportunities via hands-on-work, classes, and apprenticeships.
Description
Volunteers repair discarded or donated bicycles. We strive to empower our patrons and volunteers to use bicycles for transportation to promote sustainability and good health.
