ORGANIZATION: Metropolitan Family Service

  • 6 people are interested

The Earl Boyles parent group, Parents United, is organizing a huge event at the school on April 30th from 5 to 7 pm to celebrate Day of the Child. The event, Let’s Hear It For Kids!, will be a carnival with food and activities for families. I am writing to ask for your support that evening and/or before the event, if you have time or extra hours you're trying to get during this crazy spring. Let’s Hear It For Kids!/Day of the Child/our Health + Wellness Fair (I know, it's a lot), will be a carnival with food and activities for families. On the day of the event we will need volunteers to prepare and serve the food (hot dogs), do crowd control (make sure families know where to go and form lines), run activity booths, and clean up. The activity booths are face painting, wheel of fortune, egg and spoon race, Lowe’s Build-A-Toy, and pin the tail on the donkey..

About Metropolitan Family Service

Location:

1010 SE Stark St, Portland, OR 97214, US

Mission Statement

Metropolitan Family Service helps people move beyond the limitations of poverty, inequality and social isolation. We serve children, families and older adults in the tri-county area. MFS is dedicated to building stronger communities by providing services, connecting people with resources, and offering meaningful and rewarding volunteer opportunities.

Description

Metropolitan Family Service (MFS) volunteers serve in various capacities, depending on their areas of interest and abilities. Volunteers participate in on-going opportunities in one of three focus areas: helping children succeed, strengthening families and their connections to the community, and helping older adults and persons with disabilities live independently. We create opportunities that bridge generations and inspire everyone to live their best life.
