ORGANIZATION: Horizon Home Care and Hospice

Be an Ambassador for Hospice
So many people underestimate that they can, indeed, serve in hospice. We need you to join our Horizon family and share your unconditional love with our patients and families.

Do you need an outlet for your compassion? Horizon Home Care & Hospice is currently looking for a volunteer to add to our team at the Grief Resource Center. You would be assisting with greeting guests, mailing letters to the bereaved, light housekeeping, and of course forming wonderful relationships with families of our patients, our staff, and other amazing volunteers! We'd also love for you to be computer proficient, to assist with documentation, scanning and other administrative tasks.

If this sounds like you, please leave a phone number so we are able to contact you and provide you with more information. Shifts are available Monday - Friday, mornings and afternoons.

Please call Rachael Bush , Manager of Volunteer Services, at 414-586-8332, or email at rachael.bushl@hhch.net.
All volunteers will be required to have completed their Covid vaccine series prior to their start date.

PLEASE LEAVE A PHONE NUMBER THAT WE CAN BEST REACH YOU AT.

About Horizon Home Care and Hospice

Location:

11400 West Lake Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53224, US

Mission Statement

Horizon is a home care and hospice provider built on a foundation of care that celebrates the human spirit and the desire for security, comfort, and compassion. We are a professional team of 550+ employees and 150+ volunteers who make a loving difference in the lives of more than 2,500 patients and families throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. The idea of 'home' is central to Horizon. Home means different things to different people, but one thing it should always be is a place where we value each other. It's a place where people genuinely care about the comfort and security of others. We know our purpose is to give our patients home, whatever that means to them, wherever they are. More about Our Local Non-Profit Horizon Home Care & Hospice was established in 1990 and today serves as the second largest full service home care agency and hospice in Wisconsin. We are a local, non-profit organization sponsored by Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital and Columbia St. Mary's Hospital.

They deliver a friendly smile and a meal to our homebound.

They file papers and send out mailings for numerous Horizon departments.

They serve at agency events.

They arrange flowers - hundreds and hundreds of flowers each and every week.

They welcome our bereaved in the Grief Resource Center and offer a coffee, pastry and listening ear.

They are on-call to be present for those who are actively dying.
