Hopecam is in need of a volunteer who is able to help with Marketing and PR in preparation for our 5k race on Sunday, May 3 rd, 2015. Duties to include:
-Creating a list of local online publications to post event on Event Calendars and newsletters.
-Creating a list of local newspapers to contact to see if we can get a posting in their event calendars and possibly garner coverage for the race.
-Creating a list of local shopping centers, recreation centers and gyms to distribute Race flyers
-Research other local races that take place before the Hopecam 5k and create a list of contacts for those and call those contacts to see if we can drop off flyers to them to set out on their event day or to put in their race bags.
-Distribute Race flyers to various businesses in the area to help create awareness about Hopecam and the 5k Race event.
-Available on race day Sunday May 3 rd to help with set-up, registration and clean-up of the 5k race.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel preferred.

Mission Statement
Hopecam connects children undergoing treatment for cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses, with their friends, family members, and classmates using tablets and web cameras.
Description
Among the first side-effects a child experiences after diagnosis of cancer or other life-threatening diseases is being cut off from their friends and school. Hopecam uses technology to help children overcome this social isolation. We work with the schools to educate them as to the importance of connecting with these children, providing information, IT support and hardware as needed. We program and give the children tablet computers equipped with webcams so they can connect with their friends and family.
