The Community Connections Program of the International Focus is looking for home stay hosts for visitors from Belarus who will be in the Triangle area June
June 5 - 22, 2015 in a program for social entrepreneurs.
The Community Connections Program is sponsored by USAID. The program’s mission is to enhance understanding and capabilities for cooperation between the United States and the countries of Eurasia. Local hosting organizations around the United States welcome participants into their communities with a goal to foster lasting ties that result in ongoing cooperation and collaboration. Participants engage in hands-on experiences, direct observation, and substantive exchange with their professional counterparts. They also experience American culture first-hand while staying with host families.
Home stay hosts are asked to provide accommodations, transportation (to a pick-up/drop-off point at Crabtree Mall), and meals (breakfast and dinner). The delegates will be occupied with professional appointments during weekdays. Home stay hosts will have round-the-clock assistance available from the International Focus staff and will be given an orientation session prior to the arrival of the guests.
Home hosts are needed for June 5 - 14 and June 15 - 22. Host families are welcome to host the whole time or one of these weeks.

Description
International Focus supports multiculturalism and international exchange through the International Visitors' Leadership Programs, the Community Connections Programs, and the Open World Programs. International Focus also promotes diversity via its newsletters, collaborations, workshops, resources, and its flagship event, the International Festival of Raleigh, considered to be a key component of the Triangle’s cultural and artistic offerings. The event showcases music, dance, cuisine, art, and cultural education from 55 diverse cultures, and welcomes 30,000 visitors annually.
We continue to welcome new ethnic communities to our network as the Triangle’s population expands; and we are honored to be the area’s pivotal connector for cross-cultural understanding and respect.
