We have many opportunities available at Avalon Hospice.

Companion/Friendly Visitor - Offer support, companionship and practical caring help to a special group of people. Whether it is staying with the patients so family can take a break, reading to patients, or holding their hand, the help and support that our volunteers give is returned to them in countless ways. Visit patients in their homes or healthcare facilities. Training is provided.

Special Project Volunteer - Help with special projects and activities that are vital in providing indirect support to our patients and their caregivers. Some examples are knit, quilt, or crochet lap blankets, bake cakes for special occasions, assist with efforts to increase community awareness of hospice, light house keeping, home repairs or gardening.

Vigil Volunteer - This program is designed to serve patients in nursing facilities that are actively passing. Many times these residents have no family or friends. When this is the case our goal is to insure that no person die alone. Training is provided.
