ORGANIZATION: Central Florida Jobs Initiative

This is a 1-year assignment funded through the Federal Government’s Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). VISTA member receives a MODEST living allowance ( Approximately $946/month) and end of service educational award ($5,550) or cash stipend ($1,500). Reports to:

Program Manager

Core Competencies:

  • Self-starter, able to work independently and as a team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Follow up by telephone, e-mail, and letters
  • Solid organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel to meetings and conferences
  • Strong sense of Business Ethics, Integrity, and Honesty

Expectations:

  • Help coordinate the NOVA Jobs Initiative program to further advance and develop our presence in the Central Florida region
  • Facilitate classes at NOVA campus as needed
  • Responsible for placement of all graduates
  • Keep database current with all candidate information ad updates w/follow up
  • Recruit volunteers for class instruction and mock interviews
  • Develop course content and curriculum and assist with placement of NOVA graduates
  • Survey class participants and suggest adjustments to the program
  • Community outreach
  • Assist with recruitment for classes

Description

The Central Florida Jobs Initiative is a program that has been developed to equip and empower job seekers to become excellent employees. In order to accomplish this task we offer a six full day workshop on all aspects of searching for a job with an emphasis on Performance Excellence. Our goal is to then connect employers with qualified and job ready candidates.
