Calling all volunteers! Get your folk on at our first annual Virginia Avenue Folk Festival! Virginia Avenue comes alive May 9 for a day of amazing local music from over 70 great bands on three outdoor stages as well as indoor venues--plus artists and street performers, and delicious food at all the great Fountain Square and Fletcher Place restaurants along Virginia Ave. Best yet, we’re helping adults successfully remain housed and not go back to prison, with a portion of local businesses’ and artists’ profits benefiting Trusted Mentors, the leading provider of mentors for at-risk adults.

Be a part of this Indy first! Our inaugural event promises to be an exciting day, with many great performers lined up. Other local music events have drawn over 2,000 people, and with the terrific local restaurants and art we have planned, we expect to attract a crowd. That means we’re going to need a little help!

Please visit: http://vols.pt/4iM91j, review your shift options and sign up for a shift or two. VolunteerSpot will not share your email address. Please email Meghan at intern@trustedmentors.org with any questions or concerns! Thanks for considering volunteering! We anticipate a day of folksy fun and we’d love to have your support.

Mission Statement

Trusted Mentors connects trained volunteer mentors with at risk adults to help more people stay housed and out of prison.

Description

Trusted Mentors connects trained, volunteer mentors with at risk adults to help more people stay housed and out of prison. We accomplish our mission by:

  • Providing quality training to equip volunteers with the resources and techniques needed to be effective mentors;
  • Matching adults referred by partnering agencies with trained mentors; and
  • Fostering on-going mentoring relationships by supplying useful information, guidance, and positive activities.
Trusted Mentors is recognized as the leading provider of mentoring relationships that empower at-risk adults to remain housed and avoid incarceration.

Mentors come from all walks of life. Whether you are a business professional or formerly homeless, your knowledge and life experiences can help one of our mentees make the positive changes they desire for a more successful future.

We partner with multiple agencies throughout Indianapolis, but we don’t duplicate services. The agencies maintain the case management - and we do what we do best, provide the mentors. Referring agencies utilize Trusted Mentors because it is an effective and professional organization.

We mentor change - and it matters.
