This will be our first annual Best Bloomin' Arts and Crafts Festival, an event that makes saving the Earth fun! Saturday will include several local artisans selling their products, speakers and demonstrators discussing important sustainability topics and practices, non-profit organizations and local gardening shops, Lil' Sprouts Educational and Play Area sponsored by Lucky's Market, and local favorite, Appalatin. We will need help with setting up for this event, admissions into this event, parking guides, tractor drivers, tractor helpers, ambassadors (passing out information), boucy supervisors, petting zoo supervisors, face painters, judges, and a clean up crew. Please contact us at blackacre3200@gmail.com if you are interested in any of these opportunities. Thank you!

About Blackacre Conservancy, Inc.
Location:
3200 Tucker Station Road, Louisville, KY 40299, US
Mission Statement
The Blackacre Conservancy believes hands-on outdoor education fosters personal growth, understanding and respect for our natural and cultural heritage. We value Blackacre's unique setting - a historic homestead surrounded by a nearly 300 acre nature preserve - which provides unparalleled opportunities for the community to come together, share experiences and rebuild their relationship with Kentucky's natural environment and historic legacy. The Blackacre Conservancy is dedicated to preserving Blackacre's natural and historic features, and to sharing this special place with our community.
Description
Blackacre's unique setting offers the community both a nearly 300 - acre nature preserve and a historic homestead. The nature preserve can be enjoyed by hiking our many miles of trails through restored Kentucky forest and native wildflower and prairie fields, past waterfalls and stone fences. History buffs will enjoy our 1844 farmhouse, late 1700's stone cottage, and 1795 double crib Appalachian barn, among other historic structures. In homage to the farming heritage of the homestead, animals have returned to Blackacre - cows, horses and goats, all of which are available to the public for feeding. Our educational and entertainment activities focus on farming and farm animals, vegetable and herb gardening, landscaping and horticulture, environmental issues, eighteenth and nineteenth century history, and Kentucky culture.
