Looking for a fun way to give back to the community? Do you enjoy event planning and management? Or do you simply want to help support youth and families in the greater Los Angeles area?

If you said yes to any of the above questions, Helpline Youth Counseling would love for you to be a part of our 10 th Annual Golf Tournament ! This event will be held on Monday, May 4 th 2015 at Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda . All proceeds go directly towards our counseling, educational, recreational and social service programs for children and families overcoming substance abuse, juvenile delinquency, gang involvement, domestic violence and child abuse.

Volunteers will receive a buffet dinner depending on which shift they work, in addition to the satisfaction of helping out a great cause and playing a role in improving the lives of children, adolescents and families throughout Los Angeles!

Volunteer duties may include: welcoming and checking in golfers, monitoring on-course contests, setting up the silent auction, processing silent auction purchases, checking in dinner guests, collecting on-site donations, facilitating guest check out, helping clean up and overall ensuring the event runs smoothly.

Scheduling is flexible, although we would prefer if volunteers could work at least a 3-4 hour shift sometime between 8:00am and 7:30pm on the day of the tournament. Specific shifts will be coordinated closer to the event date, but if you have any scheduling needs feel free to let us know beforehand and we would be happy to accommodate.

We hope you will partner with us in helping create brighter futures for today’s youth!

Mission Statement

Since 1971, Helpline Youth Counseling (HYC) has worked to fulfill its mission of serving youth and families by promoting the development of strong individuals and families in the greater Los Angeles area. Our agency is dedicated to the prevention and alleviation of child abuse and neglect, family and domestic violence, gang involvement, juvenile delinquency and substance abuse. Helpline Youth Counseling has consistently employed a strength-based service strategy to assist clients in recognizing and building upon their personal assets while moving toward realizing their life goals despite the challenges they face. HYC prioritizes prevention and early intervention programs and has always taken a whole family approach to build individual and community strengths and help create more promising futures for our clients and the communities they are a part of.

Description

Helpline Youth Counseling programs are designed to reinforce protective factors within families, empower clients to change their lives in sustainable ways, and increase overall community health and well-being. Our comprehensive services include individual, group and family counseling; case management services; substance dependency programs; domestic violence services; a therapeutic day treatment school; gang prevention and intervention programs; life skills classes; parenting education; health insurance outreach and enrollment assistance; economic development and community organizing; financial counseling; youth leadership development; and housing assistance for homeless individuals and families. HYC programs also help clients avert serious life crises and the need for emergency interventions, such as child removal, from public agencies such as the Department of Child and Family Services and the Department of Probation.
