Urbana Celebrates the Boneyard! is a family-friendly event organized by the City of Urbana to celebrate local art and the Boneyard Creek Improvements Project, a new urban park in Downtown Urbana.
This free public event will be on Saturday, April 9, from 1pm to 4pm. Activities will include arts workshops, face-painting, and performances by Desafinado and Capoeira Angola Illinois. Food trucks will be parked near the site.
Two volunteers are needed to help with:
1. Welcoming visitors and handing out event schedules
2. Answering questions from visitors
3. Assisting performers and artists with setup as needed
4. Keeping the park clean
If unavailable for the full duration of event, a minimum of 2-hour commitment is welcome.

Description
The Urbana Public Arts Program and Commission were established by the Urbana City Council in 2008.
The program encompasses a wide variety of initiatives, including the Urbana Arts Grants Program, Art at the Market, Art Now!, Artist of the Corridor, Murals on Glass, and the Urbana Sculpture Project. Thanks to these efforts, Urbana was designated an Illinois Arts Friendly Community by the Illinois Arts Alliance and the Illinois Municipal League in 2008.
