These jobs take place the weekend of the Market, July 10, 11 & 12, 2015.

Artist Assistant
Artist Assistant volunteers have the opportunity to work directly with artists from all over the world. Not only will you have the chance to learn more about the artists, their cultures, and their work, but you’ll also play an integral role in helping them have a successful Market experience and in achieving their sales goals by managing their sales process. This includes writing sales slips, managing packages, and answering customer questions. Artist Assistant volunteers help the artists build sustainable businesses that not only change their lives, but also the lives of their communities. Want to help change the world? Then join us as an Artist Assistant and have the experience of a lifetime.

Team Leaders: Bonnie Clark, bonnie@folkartvolunteers.org Kari Converse, kari@folkartvolunteers.org Dave Nelson, dave@folkartvolunteers.org Conny Nichols, conny@folkartvolunteers.org

Artist Hospitality Room
Artist hospitality room volunteers keep the artists nourished and happy with snacks and beverages while they take much needed breaks during the hours of the Market.

Team Leaders: Phyllis Carlisle , Phyllis@folkartvolunteers.org & Barbara Holloway

Artist Lunches
Artist lunch volunteers keep artists well fed, distributing meals to their booths during the busy Market. You must be at least 18 years old to be on this team.

Team Leaders: Stanze Joy, stanze@folkartvolunteers.org

Block Captain

Block Captain volunteers supervise and support the artist and artist assistants by troubleshooting, filling in to allow artist assistant quick breaks, restocking important supplies like receipt books and more during the busy artist assistant shirts. These volunteers are assigned to certain areas or "blocks" of the Market site, providing support to the artist assistants in the booths that are located in those "blocks." Block captain volunteers should be unfazed by problem solving on the fly, and should be prepared to be on their feet during their shifts.

Team Leader: Jackie McLean, Jackie@folkartvolunteers.org

Booth Supplies
Booth supply volunteers provide critical assistance to the Market by packing the supplies that are provided by the Market, and used by artists and artist assistants, to properly display and sell their art at the Market. These volunteers are responsible for organizing the distribution of these materials that are integral to artist success at the Market.

Team Leader: Sue Summers, sue@folkartvolunteers.org

Booth Photography-July 10
The Booth Photography volunteer team is tasked with documenting the art in each booth (with photos of the artists as an added bonus). These photos are used to produce an annual "Booth Book" that becomes an amazing reference for staff each year. Each team member is assigned approximately 10 booths.

Team Leader: John Littrell, profjohn@folkartvolunteers.org

Cashiers & Cashier Assistants
Cashiers and Cashier Assistant volunteers will be trained to process and assist with cash, check, and credit card payments at the payment booths. These volunteers are an integral touch point for our customers, and help to make our artist’s journey to Santa Fe worthwhile. Cashiers and cashier assistants should be prepared to stand during the entire shift, but will receive a 20-minute break. Retail experience preferred. You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer on this team.

Team Leader: Kathy Perren, Kathy@folkartalliance.org

Children’s Passport Project- July 12
The Children’s Passport Project volunteer team helps children at the Market travel the world. From handing out "passport books," to assisting artist assistants with the correct "stamps," there are several ways these volunteers help awaken an awareness of the countries and cultures that exist in the world in the children who visit the Market.

Team Leaders: Donna Rosingana 505-988-2949 donna@folkartvolunteers.org & Zenia Victor

Green Team
Green Team volunteers help the Market maintain a greener event footprint. A variety of jobs, such as sorting recyclables during booth set-up and after Market de-installation and cleanup are available - all dedicated to expanding increasing recycling and keeping our greater environment clean.

Team Leader: Laura Lovejoy-May, laura@folkartvolunteers.org

Handyperson
Handyperson volunteers help make the artists' booths retail-ready by hanging mirrors and delivering garment racks that these volunteers also help assemble. Duties might include attaching screws so artists can hang their work, moving tables and lifting boxes. Coming prepared with your own small tool kit and drill is recommended, but not required.

Team Leader: Mat Long, mat@folkartvolunteers.org

Interpreters
Volunteer Interpreters provide language interpretation for artists during midweek training, Museum of International Folk Art Market panel discussions and demonstrations, and during the Market in their booth, all to help the artists tell their story and share information about their work and their culture. All language skill sets needed, from Arabic to Zulu!

Team Leader: Noreen Perlmutter, 505-466-3441, Noreen@folkartvolunteers.org

Market Hosts
Market Host volunteers greet visitors and provide basic directional information as they enter and leave the Market. When invited, these volunteers help provide information about who we are and what we do to change lives around the world. If you are the kind of person who likes to make people happy, this is the job for you!

Team Leader: Jane Reid, jane@folkartvolunteers.org

Transportation Team
Transportation Team volunteers provide Market information and hospitality to guests as they load the attendee shuttles at our offsite load zones and parking lots. These volunteers are the first touch point for our visitors, providing a great first impression before they even get to the Market.

Team Leader: Judy Casper, judy@folkartvolunteers.org

Visitor Assistance - Golf Cart Drivers
Visitor Assistance volunteers shuttle visitors from key parking lots to the elevator on a passenger style golf cart before, during, and after the Market. You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer on this team, and have a valid driver’s license.

Team Leader: Cynthia Feiden-Warsh, Cynthia@folkartvolunteers.org

Volunteer Support

Volunteer Support volunteers help with a variety of tasks such as volunteer t-shirt distribution, trainings, and check-in at the Market. This is a great position for returning volunteers who would like to be able to sit during their shift. Volunteers are needed before and during the Market.

Team Leader: Luci Osaki, luci@folkartvolunteers.org

Water Team
Water Team volunteers help keep both artists and Market visitors hydrated by providing water at the Market’s four free water kiosks. This is a great position for energetic and friendly people who like to work with others, and pride themselves on providing excellent customer service. Artists and market visitors will really appreciate you!
