The goal of the Project Recovery Meal Program is to engage individuals experiencing homelessness and chemical dependency issues in the East Metro by providing nourishing, healthy meals.

Project Recovery Meal Program volunteers are asked to purchase the food, prepare it offsite, serve it buffet-style in our community kitchen and clean up after the meal.

Lunches are served Mondays and Thursdays from 12:00 - 1:00 pm for approximately 25-40 people.

  • Groups must prepare the meals offsite as Project Recovery is not a certified food prep site. Meals can, however, be re-heated in our kitchen.
  • All volunteers for this program must be 18 years old or older.
  • If you would like to participate but are not available on a Monday or Thursday, you may be able to drop-off ready-made items such as sandwiches, cut fruit or even basic toiletries such as soap, toothpaste or socks. Contact Volunteer@PeopleIncorporated.org to inquire.

Desired Qualities for a Project Recovery Volunteer:

  • Experience working with persons experiencing homelessness.
  • Comfortable working and interacting with people who may be at varying levels of intoxication.
  • Experience working with people who have serious and persistent mental and development disabilities.
  • Ability to independently plan and implement activities.
  • Minimal supervision provided.
