About
March for Babies is not just another "walk", this event is the oldest national walk to benefit a non-profit organization in America.
Thousands of people will lace up their sneakers in Palm Beach County to take part in the March for Babies on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at CityPlace in downtown West Palm Beach. In addition to the 4-mile walk, other festivities include breakfast, live entertainment, family activities, exercise and a special "Kid’s Korner" which includes face painting, and unlimited ice cream.
We are looking for volunteers to assist with set-up, registration, food & beverage distribution and "cheerleaders" throughout the walk route.

Mission Statement
The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
Description
The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs of research, community services, education and advocacy.
More than 213,000 babies are born in Florida every year and the March of Dimes is working to help every one of them have a healthier start in life. The good news is preterm birth rate in Florida has decreased from 13.8% in 2006 to 13.0% in 2012, but there is still work to be done to get to our 9.6% goal in 2020.
