When you foster, you open your heart and home to a dog (or cat) in need until he/she is able to find a forever home! Fostering is an important part of animal rescue; even if you don’t have the ability to commit to a lifetime with a new pet, you can temporarily house one and help them find their forever home!

The Mission of the South Suburban Humane Society is to protect and promote the well being of pets and their people in our community and beyond.
Description
The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
