Description: The Mississippi Chapter of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) is seeking qualified students for internship/volunteer positions for the Spring, Summer and Fall Semesters.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

Overall Office Duties:

• Assist in the organization of the office, old records and new records
• Data Entry
• Help to develop ideas on how to streamline our base of volunteers
• Assist with JDRF events including; Walk to Cure Diabetes, Hope Gala and additional special events
• Distribute promotional materials
• Answer phones and emails
• Assist volunteers and staff of the Operations Committee with event strategic planning.
• PR/Media

Qualifications desired:

Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook

Adobe Suites (helpful but not required)

Excellent Communication Skills

Proficient with data entry

Interest in Type 1 Diabetes and research

In this internship, the student will have the opportunity to work with an International Health organization. Our daily routine centers on fund raising for Type 1 Diabetes to improve the lives of people with T1D and ultimately fund research to find the Cure. This internship will help the student learn to communicate with the public and also become involved with fundraising opportunities. There are opportunities for the Intern to network and be involved in all aspects of the Chapter. Future job opportunities with other JDRF Affiliates are potentially available. The Mississippi Chapterof JDRF is a small office with a staff of 3. We invest 80% of our revenue into research to Cure type 1 Diabetes. To date, JDRF Mississippi has invested more than 12 million into research and mission.
