Purpose: To share work/life experiences with men who have been involved with the corrections system and now beginning to navigate through the process of transitioning to securing employment while living in a supervised residential setting. Also working with both men and women who are going through the drug court process.
Volunteers will share stories and information about working and the expectations at the workplace. May involve individual mentoring. Volunteer will provide guidance in successfully completed the job application process and sharing challenges of the workplace with positive outcomes.
Qualifications:
Years of experience in the workforce, any career field.
Willingness to help others in a caring manner
Dependable and consistent
Non-judgmental and able to keep information confidential.
Added qualification--able to read or communicate in Spanish or other foreign language.

Elder Services, Inc is the provider of Meals on Wheels and Senior Dining to Iowa City, Coralville and North Liberty. As well as rural deliveries to Johson, Iowa, Cedar and Washington counties in Iowa to ensure those that are 60 years and over can remain safe, active and independent.
Our nutrition program provides upwards of 325 hot meals each day with roughly 150 of them brought to their homes with help of volunteers like you!
