At Animal Humane Society, we are getting ready for the dog days of summer as we bring back our highly successful program S.A.V.E. We invite you and your friends to join us! S.A.V.E stands for "Summer Animal Volunteer Experience" and is a uniquely designed volunteer program open to 16-18 year olds who want to volunteer with AHS over the course of one summer.
Animal Humane Society is in need of enthusiastic and motivated volunteers to help cover a variety of volunteer shifts that become available at our five locations (Golden Valley, Saint Paul, Woodbury, Coon Rapids and Buffalo) over the summer months. S.A.V.E volunteers help ensure our animals receive excellent care and socialization as they await their forever homes. They will help by assisting customers interested in adopting and provide support for the daily needs our animals. You will be fully trained for your volunteer role and the commitment is easy and flexible!

Description
The Animal Humane Society is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the welfare of all animals. The Society seeks to maintain and develop programs and facilities which promote and expand the human/animal bond. Incorporated in 1891 as the Minneapolis Humane Society, the organization was known as the Animal Rescue League for many years. In 1965 the name was changed to the Animal Humane Society of Hennepin County. In 1999, the name was officially changed to Animal Humane Society, in part to clarify the fact that the organization is not part of the county government and is not supported by tax dollars.
