Class Instructor

The goal of PS I Love You Foundation’s Love4Life program is to positively influence the mind, spirit and heart of youth so they develop confidence, positive thoughts and strong life-skills to make better choices in their lives. We aim to do so by uniting caring adult role models with youth ages 10 and up. Our curriculum offers simple but valuable life-skill lessons that include Trust, Gratitude and Goal Setting. We work to support each youth’s understanding of his/her own social health, emotional health, and academic abilities and responsibilities.

The main function of this position is to teach our Love 4 Life program during-school and/or after school. Each Program is taught one day a week, for about an hour and programs run 18 weeks to 10 months. These programs empower K-12th grade students to think, live, act with self-confidence, healthy habits, mindfulness, compassion and a purposeful life.

Responsibilities: The main responsibility of the instructor is to junior-high aged students life-skill lessons that encourage healthy self-regulation and a positive attitude (We will provide training to all potential instructors). We currently teach in Title1 schools in the South Bay and Los Angeles area, so you must have reliable transportation.

Time Required: Willing to teach approximately 1-2 classes per week at approximately 1.5 hours per class. Each instructor will be asked to commit for one a minimum of one semester and classes run from Sept to June. Your impact will reach approx. 150 students per school year. These classes are taught during school hours and usually occur in the first half of the day.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Calm and comfortable exuding a positive energy during sessions
• Ability to explain and teach the lessons to the class
• Knowledgeable in classroom management or group management
• Love and enjoy working with children
