Understand how different cultures see the sky.
Join us as the National Air and Space Museum explore the skies above. Explore the Universe Day: Everyone Looks Up!, will focus on how different people and cultures view and talk about the sky. Come and discover the universe by interacting with professional and amateur astronomers, learn about telescopes and do some daytime observations (weather permitting).
This family day will also explore the amazing accomplishments in astronomical observing from Galileo to Hubble. Through astronomy presentations, hands-on activities, and more, learn how different cultures see the sky.
Family Day volunteers help by staffing activity stations. Our activities are designed to reinforce the Family Day’s theme and help visitors explore Museum’s collection. Volunteers assist visitors in activities that range from arts and crafts. And a light lunch will be provided as a small token of appreciation.
