Licensed Volunteer Trauma Therapist Needed:

Trauma Support Services of Texas (TSSNT), a non-profit agency established in 2008, provides free, on-going Licensed Therapy and Case Management services to survivors of Trauma such as: homicide, assault, abuse, car crashes, suicide, robbery/home invasion, PTSD, etc. We serve individuals, families, children and teens in D/FW and surrounding counties. TSSNT sees clients from all income levels, but our target population are those individuals without insurance or other ability to pay for therapy to help rebuild their lives.

Volunteer Therapist are able to see TSSNT clients either at their private practice locations or in our Duncanville or Fort Worth locations.

TSSNT is seeking Volunteer, LPC and LCSW Therapists, who are trained in Trauma Therapy, willing to accept one to three pro-bono clients per year and in exchange, TSSNT will:

  • Provide free monthly Trauma focused CEU’s training
  • Provide free Case Consultations, facilitated by a TSSNT licensing supervisor, and located in private practice offices
  • Provide resources to increase Trauma Specific Training
Currently, TSSNT has only three Bi-lingual Spanish speaking Therapist and would welcome at least one or two more.

TSSNT serves clients in Dallas, Fort Worth and surrounding counties and currently has approximately 45 Volunteer Therapists.

Description

Trauma Support Services of North Texas (TSSNT) is making a huge difference in the lives of adults and children who are trauma survivors in North Texas by providing thousands of hours of free, licensed trauma therapy to hundreds of trauma victims who do not have insurance and/or the ability to pay for help they so desperately need.

Founded in 2007, TSSNT is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit agency which provides professional trauma therapy and support services for survivors of traumatic events such as: homicide, rape, assault, abuse, car crashes, suicide, robbery, PTSD, human trafficking, home invasion, identity theft and more. We offer "whatever it takes for as long as it takes" to assist survivors rebuild their lives after trauma. Currently we have approximately 40 Volunteer Professional Therapist serving clients in D/FW and surrounding counties.

Regarding TSSNT’s Services to Children: Along with our Play Therapy, that we provide to children as young as 3 yrs. of age, TSSNT recently received a grant in which we are partnering with FW and Dallas ISD’s to provide "Grief/Trauma Intervention Groups" to students who have experienced a traumatic death in their family.
