Mission Statement

To promote social, leadership, employability and life skills necessary to assist underserved youth in becoming functioning citizens in today’s society.

Description

The Children’s District is a Non-Profit Organization providing mentoring and tutoring services to youth between the ages of 12 and 18 in the Montgomery, AL area.

Our vision is to positively change the lives of underserved youth through programs that promote social, leadership, employability and life skills. The youth will contribute to the workforce by becoming taxpaying citizens, they will have the confidence and tools needed to further their education, relationships will be developed, and their communities will grow stronger in unity creating a brighter future for our youth.

The Children’s District offers programs that are developed to focus on our youth that are falling short in the school system or have gotten themselves entangled with the juvenile court system. In addition to servicing juvenile delinquents, programs will also be extended to Group Homes, Foster Care children, and other community agencies on a referral basis. We strive to empower the youth by identifying those that are socially and economically challenged, resulting in destructive behavior towards themselves or other individuals. Our motto: S.T.E.P.S - Striving to Teach, Empower, and Prepare our Youth to Succeed beyond their expectations. These programs expose our youth to community involvement, career planning, substance abuse prevention, aggression replacement, self-expression, family life, healthy relationships and sex education.
