Group

Project CARE needs a Volunteer ESL Tutor for a small group (approx. 6) of beginning English speakers. The group tends to be very consistent in attendance. This is an in-person onsite group that has recently had their tutor need to retire. The group meets on Tuesday mornings from 9-11am and on Thursday mornings from 9-11am. This is an ongoing program. Day and time are negotiable.

Description

Project CARE (Community Adult Reading Experience) is Morton College’s volunteer adult literacy program. We use trained literacy tutors to teach adult students seeking assistance with reading and writing, and/or adults who are learning English as a Second Language. Tutoring services are FREE and are available to all eligible students. Project CARE was founded in 1986 and is grant funded by the Illinois Secretary of State.
We serve the communities of Berwyn, Cicero, Stickney, Lyons, Forest View, McCook, and the surrounding areas, including Chicago.
