What’s simple? flexible? and feels good? Being a Volunteer Driver for Senior Ride Charleston and providing dignified transportation for seniors and the visually impaired of Charleston County. Imagine having to give up your car and being dependent on relatives, friends or public transportation for every appointment and every chore. Feel your independence slipping away? Independence is what Senior Ride Charlestion strives to give back. As a volunteer driver you can help us do that by providing rides you choose to individuals, at times which fit into your schedule, near you and improve the lives of valuable members of the community. We are also seeking volunteers to assist in the office. General clerical, answering phones, filing, and other general office duties.

Mission Statement
To provide dignified, reliable, and sustainable community based and community supported transportation for older adults age 60 and older and individuals 21 and older with visual impairments in the Trident area consisting of Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties.
Description
Just ten years ago, Senior Ride Charleston began providing rides to seniors and visually impaired adults. We have now provided over 68,000 dignified rides; taking our member riders to medical appointments, to church, providing a ride to the movies, to see grandchildren, to go shopping and to the hair salon (all very important places to go and things to do). We have been able to assist over 1,000 seniors and visually impaired individuals stay connected and enjoy our community.
