Did you know that having an adult read aloud to preschool-age children can help prepare them to learn to read in kindergarten?

Ready Readers inspires preschool-age children from low-income communities to become readers by reading aloud to them, increasing their exposure to quality books, and providing literacy-related experiences.

Make a mesaurable impact on a student's life and develop a rewarding relationship while getting out of house (or office!) on a regular basis for a good cause. Participate in special Ready Readers training and workshops and receive FREE books for every student in the classrom you read to!

  • Specific times to be negotiated with teacher/school
  • MUST commit to a minimum of 2 reading sessions of 30 minutes each per month
  • No contact outside of school (no exchange of phone numbers, email, Twitter, etc.)
  • For the sake of your tutoring relationship, please be reliable - not expected to miss more than one scheduled meeting per semester
