Project Northstar is starting an exciting new program for young parents (under the age of 25 who have children under the age of 6 - expecting parents are welcome as well). The program will be a combination of educational tutoring as well as a support group/parent training program.
Groups will meet each week to learn about a variety of parenting topics lead by an expert facilitator, while also forming friendships with peers who are experience the same challenges as a fellow young parent. Topics will vary each week, and will be based on the participating individuals’ needs and interests.
We are looking for volunteers interested in acting as a tutor/mentor who will work with students individually each week. The goal of these sessions is to ensure students have the help they need to continue with their education, and to help with professional goals as needed.
