Position Title: Mock Interviewer

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Commitment: 2 hours
Position Available: March 14, 2015
Contact: Joy Morgen, Development and Outreach Coordinator, joy@unitedfriends.org.
Event and Position Description: United Friends of the Children, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering current and former foster youth, is hosting our annual Career Panel on Saturday, March 14th! This event will be attended by up to 100 9 th and 10 th graders, and as part of that days curriculum, they will be taking part in short mock interviewers. We’re searching for diverse interviewers from different professions, businesses/organizations, and backgrounds! Mock interviewers will be expected to arrive at noon for an introduction to our organization and lunch with the youth. After lunch, Mock Interviewers will have 2 shifts of 20-30 minutes each; during each shift, the volunteer will conduct a mock interview with one student, with the last few minutes reserved for feedback.
Skills and Qualities: Volunteers must: have excellent listening and communication skills; be comfortable interviewing and making conversation with teenagers; and conduct themselves in a professional manner. Experience interviewing and hiring a plus, but not required.
Volunteer Process: Volunteers are usually recruited and interviewed for open positions until all positions are filled. However, because of the brief time commitment, UFC is inviting professionals to come join our 9 th and 10 th graders without any volunteer orientation or interview. We hope our volunteers at this special event will enjoy learning about our organization and interacting directly with our youth!
How to Apply: Please contact Joy Morgen, contact information above, to sign up for this event and to receive more specific information, including the location where this event will take place.More opportunities with United Friends of the Children
