Mission Statement
The Buttonwood Park Zoo creates experiences for exploring and enjoying the natural world. The Buttonwood Park Zoological Society (BPZS) is a private, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3), nonprofit corporation founded in 1969. BPZS’ mission is to support the Buttonwood Park Zoo in creating experiences for exploring and enjoying the natural world.
Description
For a 120 years, we have been proud to be part of the New Bedford community as the 12th oldest zoo in the United States. Our mission is to create experiences for exploring and enjoying the natural world. We hope to offer families an opportunity to learn the importance animals play in our world. For many of our animals, the Zoo offers them a home because of injuries that occurred in the wild.
As an AZA accredited zoo, we strive to provide our animals, guests and staff the best experience possible. Through our conservationefforts and awareness programs, we try to lead our community by example.
Go wild, explore us here at bpzoo.org and we hope to see you at the Zoo soon!
