PLACEMENT PURPOSE
The first position a volunteer takes with the Santa Cruz chapter of the American Red Cross
OPEN TIME DAYS
The time committment is variable. The key focus is on taking classes and/or identifing the area where the volunteer would like to volunteer. A general volunteer takes disaster services classes to help find those areas where they want to help. In general, a general volunteer will commit at｠ a minmum｠3 hours per month to training classes. The upper limit on time｠is only restricted｠by ｠the volunteer's available time and the availability of classes in the Bay area｠and online classes.
Disaster Services: an Overview
Food Safety (online class)
Shelter Operations & Shelter Simulation (classroom)
After these core classes, disaster worker will work with a Disaster Training Advisor to｠create a training plan aligned to a volunteer's interest.｠
