Child drowning headlines are all too common in Arizona. Thankfully, our child drowning death rate in recent years has fallen to some of the lowest levels on record. Programs like Water Watchers at Phoenix Children’s Hospital are a factor in the decrease. Water Safety Day is the official kickoff event to the swimming season in which nearly 1,200 first graders learn critical drowning prevention lessons. Over 400 volunteers assist with the event itself as well as with all of the monthly projects that take place before and after the event. Phoenix Children’s Hospital would appreciate your assistance with this life saving event. Volunteers are needed to assist with set-up, volunteer check-in, tour guides, floaters, and clean-up. Please click on the link below to view the online sign-up sheet. www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0D4FAAAF2DA75-water6/ Please remember that when you sign up for this need you are taking the spot from another potential volunteer. If you sign up and then are unable to volunteer make sure you remove yourself from the sign up page and allow enough time, so that someone else may volunteer. Thank you in advance for your support!
