We are a newly founded nonprofit organization that works with youth and young adults from the ages 5-30 who are living with virus HIV. We are still in the developmental stages of the organization and need your help

We know a Program Coordinating can be a very detailed process and can require a great amount of energy and time. We also know this is not a paid position (but hope to be in the future) and understand the work that is being done is by volunteer staff, and will be on a very flexible schedule.

We are willing to teach.

This is just a general I description of what the job in details but will not be required to do all. The Program Coordination team will be broken up into teams of five, reasons we know you are volunteer and your time is very valuable. We would not want you to burn you out as a volunteer; because we are in the beginning stages your help is greatly needed.

Role of Program Coordinator

Program coordinators (PC) support the program director by performing administrative duties related to planning, directing and coordinating both the academic and operational activities of the residency program. They also provide educational coordination between the attending Volunteer specialties, and other administrative teams.

In order to excel in the job, a program coordinator must:

  • Have good problem solving skills, be resourceful and take the initiative when needed.
  • Have a good understanding and knowledge of the requirements of the residency program as well as the structure and functionality of the department and the institute.
  • Be able to work independently and to be organized in their work to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be professional when dealing with all aspects of the residency program.

The job duties of the Program Coordinator include, but are not limited, to the following:

Administrative

  • Supports the Program Director by scheduling meetings, providing agenda and minutes, developing reports relevant to the residency program, implementation of policies.
  • Develops a time-line for the annual cycle for programs
  • Supports the program director in preparations for the resident selection process
  • Assists in the preparation and update of resident handbook
  • Prepares educational material and documents for the residents
  • Assists the program director in the orientation of the resident to the program
  • Coordinates, prepares and distributes resident activities and schedules with the program director, faculty and chief resident
  • Coordinates daily conference schedules, grand rounds etc.
  • Provides support and information to residents and program faculty on a variety of issues related to the residency program
  • Maintains a systemic file system with resident information and program records
  • Manages a computerized data system
  • Maintains a record of resident training
  • Maintains a record of all vacation and sick leave used by residents
  • Monitors and documents evaluation process
  • Assists the program director in preparation of the PIF by gathering all the data required
  • Participates in accreditation site visits and internal reviews

Educational

  • Demonstrates awareness of program goals and objectives
  • Create new programs based on the mission of the organization
  • Match new programs with the organization
  • Has a good understanding of the competencies and their implementation by self and by the Client/Student
  • Utilizes available resources and websites in an efficient way to help enhance the residency program
  • Networks with other coordinators, institutes and organizations to share information and to gain knowledge that would help improve the program

Description

About our founder:
On March 28, 2010, on his eighteenth birthday, Robert was diagnosed with AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome). In December of the same year, he was also diagnosed with Cancer. Despite these lives changing events, Robert prevailed. With much prayer and strong will he beat cancer and became HIV undetectable (controlled).

After three years of living with the virus, Robert formed his own organization, HIV Positive Youth That Pledge to Empower Themselves and Others or (H.Y.P.E). H.Y.P.E was created from inspiration, love, and compassion.


About H.Y.P.E. to Empower, Inc.:

H.Y.P.E. to Empower, Inc. aims to transform the lives of children, youth, young adults, families, and communities living with HIV. H.Y.P.E.’s targeted population are HIV positive children, youth, and young adults between the ages of 13-30 years old, and their families affected by HIV.

Our comprehensive and relevant inactivates involve community services, HIV-education, academic education, counseling, medical, social, and professional support, and self and social empowerment.

In addition to our direct services for HIV positive individuals and communities, we also aim to provide our skills and expertise to persons, groups, organizations, and businesses who wish to utilize the HYPE model in targeting areas where they wish to make a difference.
