Food Lifeline is in URGENT need of weekday volunteers to process food donations. Volunteer attendance drastically declines during the summer month but Food Lifeline's distribution increases to provide for children and families who rely on free or reduced school meals.
By redirecting good food from local farmers, grocers and restaurants that might otherwise go to waste, Food Lifeline annually distributes more than 39 million pounds of food and supplies to a network of 275 hunger relief partners across Western Washington. Whether you volunteer weekly or once a year, your time will provide meals to those who might otherwise go without.
**Sort & Pack: Ages 6+** Individuals and groups welcome!

Volunteers will process thousands of pounds of food and supplies during these short sessions. You must be able to stand for the full session, light lifting and calculate simple math or have an adult with you that can help.

Mission Statement
Feeding people facing hunger today and working to solve hunger for tomorrow.
Description
Food Lifeline is on a mission to end hunger in Western Washington. We believe that access to food is a human right and that nobody deserves to be hungry. Food Lifeline provides nutritious food to thousands of people facing hunger every year by sourcing nutritious food from a variety of food industry partners. We distribute this food through a partnership with 300 food banks, shelters and meal programs, enabling us to provide the equivalent of 134,000 meals every single day. At the same time we are working to end hunger for the future by addressing its root causes, including systemic inequity and social justice. We do this through advocacy efforts to shape local, state and federal policy, by partnering with organizations that are addressing other causes of poverty and through community engagement and mobilization efforts.
