Are you interested in making a difference in a life?
Can you spare 3 hours a week?
Consider becoming a Volunteer Tutor.
The Chester County OIC Adult Tutoring Program partners with the Chester County Library in Exton to provide FREE one-on-one tutoring for adult learners who would like help with: - Reading, Writing, Math - English as a Second Language (ESL) - Test prep for GED, TEAS or TOEFL
No previous teaching experience is necessary!
A 4 year college degree is the only requirement.
Tutors receive a thorough orientation, training and professional development opportunities to enhance their teaching techniques and learning activities.
Tutors meet with students at a public location for at least 3 hours per week to work on the student's individual academic needs and goals. We ask that tutors work with a student for at least one year.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree - we will ask for a copy of your degree.
-Attend a training workshop.
-Be compassionate, even tempered, relaxed and flexible and able to respond to the changing needs of a student.
