We are looking for some folks with basic woodworking skills to help us build some activity boards and boxes for the the residents of Arvada Care and Rehabilitation. Some of our residents with dementia, especially our male residents, feel a need to keep their hands busy and enjoy playing with different types of locks, knobs, and switches. We would purchase all materials, and are looking for a volunteer to assemble the boards and/or boxes for us. This would require screwing the locks, knobs and switches onto a board, OR building a box with several different compartments and different types of locks. To get an idea of what these items look like, simply Google "Dementia Activity Board" or "Dementia Activity Lock Box".
