Do you have a passion for history--and customer service? Join our volunteer Ambassadors! Ambassadors welcome visitors, orient them to our historic buildings, collect admission fees and inform guests of our upcoming events. Or you might work with our Business Manager to manage the Gift Shop (for example, ordering, inventory, etc.) While no experience is necessary, you should be available to work at least twice monthly and complete a short training session (provided at no cost to you).

Description
The Troy Historical Society is a nonprofit organization with more than 40 years of success in preserving and presenting the history of our region. On July 1, 2011 the Troy Historical Society assumed responsibility for operation of the Troy Historic Village, where history lives. The Troy Historic Village includes ten historic buildings, surrounding a village green that is enhanced by gardens and mature trees. A tent and gazebo on the green provide areas for outdoor concerts, storytelling and reading aloud. There is ample space for picnics and traditional activities and games. Our historic buildings host concerts, lectures, discussions and meetings, as well as exhibits of arts and artifacts.
The Troy Historic Village is a destination for students, children, families and adults who live in or visit southeast Michigan.CAUSE AREAS
