PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Educate the community in how to be prepared for a disasrer. Activities range from formal presentations, sharing information at a community tabling event, canvassing a neighborhood with preparedness brochures to installing smoke detectors in individual`s homes. You can volunteer for any of these activites.

OPEN TIME DAYS

Presentations range from 30 minutes to an hour.

Community tabling events range from 4-8 hours.

Canvassing event range from 2-3 hours.

Installing smoke Detectors takes 30 mins to an hour per home. (Done in a team of 2).Good communication skills; comfortable speaking in front of groups; ï½ enjoys being out in the community; friendly

REQUIRED TRAINING

Disaster Services: An Overview;

Disaster Preparedness Workshop;

Smoke Detector Installation Orientation
