PLACEMENT PURPOSE
This is a national program being offered throughout 2014 in the Eastern Virginia Region. Using carefully assessed curriculum tools, this one-hour program provides emergency-preparedness education to youth in grades 3-5 in school and after-school settings.

OPEN TIME DAYS

  • Initial Presenter and Project training (46 hours)
  • 2 hour commitment per presentation (1 hour set up/clean up, 1 hour presentation), not including picking up and dropping off materials from the chapter, commuting to and from presentation site, or any additional tasks done at the chapter.

REQUIRED TRAINING
  • Orientation to American Red Cross
  • Disaster Services: An Overview
  • Community Disaster Education presenter training
  • Pillowcase Project presenter training (including teachbacks)
  • Shadowing presentations
  • Recommended: Psychological First Aid
