Volunteer Sorter Assistants primary tasks will include:
- Inducting recently returned library items.
- Empty sorter bins and place similar items in alphabetical order on their appropriate carts.
- Monitor the cart corral and ensure that carts are dated and ordered.
- Any other duties as assisgned.
Volunteers are needed from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Fridays, and 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
Volunteers are to be 15 years of age or older and will need to fill out a volunteer application, available on the Highland Park Public Library's webpage under the participate tab. Volunteers will then meet with the volunteer coordinator for an interview prior to being approved to volunteer at the Highland Park Public Library.
