Music Enrichment is used as a tool to improve physical and emotional health. We are looking for compassionate volunteers, with musical talents and/or passion for music, to share this experience with our hospice patients. Volunteers play a vital role in our care approach. They offer emotional support to our patients and families through the use of their time and talents.

Many hospice patients have lost some of their vital senses, yet their appreciation for music has remained and respond positively when stimulated by the sound of music.

Compassus hospice is looking for talented volunteers willing to sing and/or pay an instrument to our patients while also offering support and companionship. No professional experience needed. If you have the passion, you have what it takes!

The hours are flexible and you will be assigned to a patient who lives near your home or place of work. There are many ways you can make a difference as a Compassus Hospice Volunteer.

Volunteers visit with patients who have life limiting illnesses. Visiting may consist of providing meaningful conversation, playing cards, reading to a patient, looking through photo albums, etc. Volunteers may also help with errands or provide support for the caregivers. Most of our patients reside in nursing homes, group homes, assisted livings or their private residence.

We also utilize administrative volunteers. There are a lot of tasks in the office we can use help with.

As a volunteer, you are part of a professional care team which includes doctors, nurses, aides, chaplains and social workers. The time commitment made by volunteers is flexible and training is provided.
