The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is responsible for finding volunteers for the upcoming St. Patricks Day festival Saturday, March 14th. We need volunteers for the Charging Station/Info Center: 10AM- 2 PM and 1:30 PM- 6 PM. This station will have outlets and plugs for those that would like to charge their cell phone during the St. Patricks Day Festival. You would be assisting them.

Volunteer Training Dates are as follows:
Saturday February 28th @ 2 PM

Sunday March 1st @ 2 PM

Monday March 2nd @ 6 PM

Tuesday March 3rd @ 6 PM

They will be held at the MLK Park Community Center @ 2300 Greene Street.

Although it is not mandatory for volunteers to attend a training session to be able to volunteer, we do highly recommend that volunteers attend one of the sessions to educate themselves and learn the procedures for the day of the festival. This will hopefully help with any hiccups or issues that may occur on Saturday.

Mission Statement

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.

Description

Volunteers are our partners in the crusade to end cancer.

In 2017, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's South Carolina chapter was founded in 1981 to serve residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The chapter serves the entire state of South Carolina with the main office in Columbia and satellite offices in Greenville and Mt. Pleasant.
