BLINDSTART's Dragon Boat Team is made up od Blind, Visually Impaired and Visual Paddlers. We practice weekly at Mothers Beach in Long Beach in preparation of upcoming Races. Monthly we make it more of a social event and ask our family and friends to join us.
We need help guiding some of our visually impared paddlers (VIPs), setting uo the pop-up tent and tables, getting food ready, helping with the equipment for practice, etc. We also have guide dogs that need caring for while owners are out on the water for practice. Because it's a potluck we need help setting up and serving food.

Blind Start of America is an award winning 501(c)3 non-profit organization, who's passion is bringing together sighted and visually impaired people through exciting athletic and social events like Dragon Boat Racing and the Blind Mud Run. Our mission is to provide scholarships for blind and visually impaired persons (VIPs) to develop job skills to enable them to ultimately lead lives of independence. These scholarships provide education, training, communication, transportation, adaptive equipment and technology.
Description
We raise awareness and money for visually impaired individuals. We do this by participating in marathons, dragon boat races, and mud runs.
