Make a difference for a homebound person! We are seeking delivery drivers for Our Meals on Wheels program. We provide hot meals to elderly and disabled persons in the Downtown/Midtown Kansas City, Mo. area. Meals are prepared and packaged at our Kansas City Community Kitchen location, 750 Paseo (parking lot entrance is off 8th Street). We deliver Monday - Saturday each week and routes take 50-75 minutes to deliver (depending on day & traffic). This is a great opportunity to meet people and deliver fresh, healthy meals. Openings immediately available for once a month or more frequently as you choose, particularly on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Many volunteers do this over their lunch break from work. NourishKC, formerly known as Episcopal Community Services, specializes in a unique blend of food related programs.
The Kansas City Community Kitchen provides more than 1500 restaurant-style meals each week to anyone who comes to eat. Our Food Security Network supplies thousands more meals per year through a network of food pantries, BackSnack programs and other meal programs around the metro. Perhaps what makes us most unique is our Culinary Cornerstones training program which provides individuals an opportunity to learn life skills as well as culinary skills, giving them a chance to get a living wage job that will provide them with food access for the long term.
