Welcome:

Thank you for expressing an interest in bringing your organization to serve with us. We are looking to build more relationships with local businesses who are looking for ways to get involved as groups.

There are many ways to get involved; whether giving of your time by serving in our kitchens, during our holiday programs and community picnics, our family night dinners, fundraising, donation drives and monetary giving - all of these ways are so helpful to our community.

Who we are/what we do:

Community Kitchen provides basic safety net and emergency food service to our community. The Community Kitchen, Inc. primarily serves fragile and economically disadvantaged persons living on the southeast and the near northside of Columbus, Ohio Ave and 20th Ave areas.

However, clients may come from anywhere to the Community Kitchen for services. One of the most special things about our organization is that we focus heavily on children and families.

Mission:

To be a community organization where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, receives food, and feels comfortable asking for help.

Volunteer at either site:

Community Kitchen, 640 S. Ohio Avenue, Columbus Ohio 43205 OR

St. Dominic’s Family Center , 453 N. 20th Street, Columbus Ohio 43203

Our hours are 8am to 2pm Monday through Saturday. It is important to schedule your volunteer date through our agency. See below for Volunteer Coordinator contact.

Simple steps towards volunteering:

1. Please visit: communitykitchencoumbus.org , select "how to help", next "volunteer with us" and follow the steps and link to print off orientation and application packet.

2. After completing the application and forms, please email Ashley the scan: volunteer@communitykitchencolumbus.org OR you can drop it off to our Ohio Ave. location.

3. Lastly, after Ashley receives your applications, she will schedule a brief orientation for your group.
