Gazebo Cafe at the Plano Senior Recreation Center

In search of Experienced Volunteer Chefs for two

days a week to make quality culinary dishes at the

Plano Senior Recreation Center. On average, the

center’s cafe serves approximately 100 people

on Wednesday and Thursday. The volunteer chef would

be responsible for creating a weekly ingredients/quantity

shopping list, as well as creating and proposing new menu

items for approval. This position will also direct the other volunteers who

prepare and sell the 40 "daily specials" on those one or

two days a week. The volunteer chef will need to maintain

a safe and sanitary work environment (according to local,

state, and national best practices.) Qualifications: 4+ years

experience as restaurant chef; food handler’s certificate

and preferred knowledge of culinary services for small to

large banquets. Schedule would likely be Wednesday and

Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. (for cooking only) or

8:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. (cooking, serving and cleanup).
