Book processing projects are one-time group volunteer opportunities for about 4-15 people. These volunteers help sort and label book donations the Literacy Council receives from book drives, individuals, and businesses. These projects require a time commitment of approximately 2 hours. During the first 20 minutes, staff provide an overview of the Literacy Council history and instructions for sorting the books, then volunteers sort and sticker the books. After sorting, the books are donated to schools, libraries, and other community centers. Volunteers play a role in the distribution of these donations and get to spend time socializing and working together as a group.
